Is thia a all lam?
« on: June 13, 2013, 11:13:49 PM »
This is a beauty, but isn't it a all lam.  I been talking turkey on a Korean Ibanez S Series Classic, but this has kinda   caught my eye.   Tom.  :)        http://www.ebay.com/itm/Washburn-Festival-Series-EA20-Acoustic-Electric-Guitar-Flame-Maple-Spruce-Top-/151051863889

Thanks Ship, There is no S in the model number, but the description says solid. Some times these sellers don't know what there talking about, so I thought I would ask here.   Man tough decision.  Tom.  :)    The good thing is, they did not make just one of each.  LOL.

I'm going to be a party pooper and say all lam.  If you go into the details of the listing you will note the phrase "Select Spruce Top".  Select Spruce almost always means laminate.

I used to have a EA20 and it was all lam.  Mine was a much older version.  Washburn did make a EA20SDL.  That one did have a solid top.  FWIW my EA20 was a terrific guitar when amplified.  Not so much straight acoustic but that's not what the guitar was all about.

+1!!

Great sound amped...thin when unplugged.

CB plays one...nice piece.

Cheers!

Thanks guys, I sent a request for info on this.  It is a beautiful guitar but I am trying to " trade up " as they say.  Tom.  :)

I sort of disagree about thin sounding...  My 90's EA20B has great resonance and sustain, sound good without amp...  Maybe it's because I have upgrades like Graphtech nut and bridge pins, plus recent upgrade to Grover Rotomatic 18:1 tuners (they cost more than half for what I paid for the guitar).

Anyway it's a very good guitar, i like the thinner body.
