Washuburn Mystic Banjo
« on: October 12, 2013, 12:49:53 AM »
I decided at age 61 to learn to play banjo, and purchased a used but almost mint condition Washburn Mystic Banjo.  I find it strange that I can find no references to this model, when made,  what current models  it is similar to (B14, 15, 17,  etc), and what a fair price would be on it. There are no other markings on the Banjo other than the name Washburn on the peghead and the name "Mystic" which stands alone on the neck near the heel..  Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for this information!  It explains why I couldn't find any information on it....that was a pretty expensive price in 1984!  I think I will hang on to this and enjoy it!

I have one which is serial #82.... which I bought new for about $750 in 1983 (I think) in Toronto. It's a B23. So I guess they were made in 1982 as well.
