I hate to start out on the wrong foot as I am new to the site, lol, but I don't think the comparison is totally fair. Let me say up front that ESP and Washburn are my 2 favorite guitars with Hamer a close 3rd. The problem is your comparing a hand made instrument to a machine made instrument. I own both of those guitars and your are right, as far as features wise they are close, but when you come down to the workmanship the $5000 ESP is miles ahead. Now, take a custom hand made Parallaxe, I know there is none available as of now but if there was, and its a different story. Just my 2 cents.

The problem with ESP is

1) Everybody has one
2) Most people I know have switched from Gibson to ESP and back to Gibson. I haven't seen many people who jumped on the ESP bandwagon stay for longer than a few years at most. Is it just me who noticed this? Could be a local thing...
