Changing pickups in an OE-30
« on: October 09, 2014, 07:19:51 PM »
Have an OE-30 Delta King SHB that has a great Bigsby on it.  Other than the weight of the thing, I like the guitar a lot.  Stock pickups are pretty lifeless, though, and I have a set of true Bill Lawrence humbuckers from the 80s that I'd like to put in.

Can anyone give me guidance on how hard it is to put a new set of pickups into a semi-hollow like the OE-30?  I'm reasonably skilled with working on guitars and electronics, and con solder in reasonably tight spaces.  However, I just don't want to go ripping into the thing if it's going to turn out be impossible to get to the wiring.   The new pickup have leads of only moderate length, but I can add on if I have to.

Any expertise which you're willing to share is appreciated!  Thanks!
