Wasburn xm120epromr?
« on: December 28, 2014, 01:09:46 PM »
Hi All,
New member and first post! Anyone ever own/play a Wasburn xm120epromr?  Any opinions on build quality, etc? Also, I see that the pickups are listed as actual Seymour Duncan SH1/SH11, is this correct?

Thanks!

Wow, that model # threw me -- "EPROM" generally meaning an "eraseable programmable read-only memory" chip.

But understandable, as various vendors use the suffix EPROC or EPROB or gods know what, & Washburn -- being, well, Washburn-- does nothing to clear this up. You're considering a metallic red XM120E PRO, correct?

Anyway, sorry, but no hands-on here. Heck, I didn't even realize the XM120 was around!

EPROB, $250 street:

EPROC, $465.67 street:

That first one says the pickups are "Seymour Duncan 59 and SH11" HBs.

In these cases, you have "black" & "carbon" finishes.

The sad truth is YOU CANNOT KNOW IF IT'S A GOOD GUITAR UNTIL YOU PLAY IT. Too many variables. I've played awful USA Strats, & beat-up Hondo's that've been lovely. In all likelihood, even if you drop $1,000+ on an axe, you REALLY SHOULD do a proper setup on it.

Thanks for the reply!  I have decide to take the shot and have ordered the guitar in metallic red.  World Musical Supply even cut me $20 bucks off.  Looking forward to it arriving with fingers crossed it will be good.
