Hello everyone,

I just recently acquired another Washburn Bass... i am guessing it's a 2001 base on the date, but i am not certain.

Description:
- Single piece Alder body (i am not certain of the body wood, some say Alder and some basswood)
- Washburn Single MM style humbucker pickup
- 34 scale bass
- bolt-on 24 fret rosewood fingerboard maple neck
- Grover Tuner and Wilkinson 4-string bass bridge brush chrome hardware
- Active Electronics - 1 Volume and 2 Tone Knobs

Wow, just too sweet. Like the next step up from the Bantam XB series. Who knew??

Looks like the RB series was killed off in 2003. Why is it that there are so many long-dead uber-cool Washies...?

thanks Tony,

There was another RB2000 black w/ OHSC on eBay (i lost out on that), but thankfully I got this RB2000 with the padded gig bag (the lather had bumps and scrapes while I got lucky with this bass which is in very good condition 9/10).

I really like the body carve, a leaner Bantam, kinda like Warwick done right. ;)

There's a natural-finish 2000 asking just $270, shipped.

If it weren't the middle of the dreaded Heating Season, I'd be awfully tempted... Anyway, do you happen to know the difference between the control set on that one (knob/switch/knob) & yours?

Then again, looks like I missed out on a sharp RB2002 for not too much more -- & sold by a good shop:

I like the looks of this finish better than the blonde. Do you suppose it's actual walnut?

Hello Tony,

I saw the natural RB2000 too, but I felt its too pricey.. I paid $204 or $206 including shipping (the padded gig bag is also a plus).. Thought thats very good price (because of very good condition).  The difference with the RB2000 and RB2002 Hammerhead is night and day... Hammerhead has brass plate embedded in the headstock..  http://www.talkbass.com/threads/the-official-washburn-club-part-3.1060572/page-177
