Dimebag Culprit
« on: April 12, 2016, 04:38:46 PM »
I just found this guitar in the attic in its original case. I bought it years ago as Im a huge pantera fan, but never learned how to play until recently. Im looking for some specs and would like to know how much this bad boy is worth nowadays. Its still got the plastic film on the silver parts, a sexy guitar for sure! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

1999, Korean, basswood body, maple set neck, rosewood fretboard,  2 volume controls (no tone control), Grover tuners, Washburn 500 series humbuckers,  licenced Floyd Rose, 22 frets, acrylic dot inlays...

I bought mine near mint condition for $350 way back around 2002 before Dime passed.  I got lucky as far as I'm concerned.  I see people trying to sell these for around $1500, but that's ridiculous and I highly doubt that anyone has ever spent that much.  Yours sounds pretty new, but attics can go through several climate changes throughout the year.  Not the best place to store a guitar, depending on a few factors.  If it were truely mint, you might be able to get around $700 or better.  They are somewhat rare.  I'm sure that someone could argue that value to be either higher or lower.  There are tons of Dime fans out there like myself.
