Looking for an NX6
« on: April 13, 2016, 06:27:58 AM »
Hi,

I'm currently the proud owner of an N24 and a couple of KC series Washburn guitars. But what I'd really like is an NX6. I know I could buy an N4, but I really don't need a Floyd Rose because I just don't use the tremolo much when I play.

These don't seem to come up for sale very often, especially not in the UK. I'm willing to pay a good price even if it means having to have one shipped from the US.

So if anyone sees this and is looking to sell please get in touch.

Cheers,

Stuart.

All you can do is remain alert. One sold off Reverb.com five weeks ago for $600 + $100.

The more-common NX3 (Rose tail) goes for about half that.

If you should spot an NX6TM, please tell us what the price is -- they're VERY difficult to gain any info on! This ad has been around awhile, & 350,000 yen seems a bit crazy...

Hi Tony,
Another crazy price for a NX6TM. This just was listed on Ebay:

Welll... though "normal" (import) Washburns are vastly underappreciated, the USA models attract fanatics. Looking at recent eBay sales, I wouldn't be surprised if in mint NX6TM went for $4K, maybe even $4.5... but any higher than that is some unique "signed by Dime" axe.

But I'm fair certain the seller's correct that "standard" was a hardtail bridge, so a three-unit run of a variant on a short-lived variant of a hard-to-find model... well, maybe. HOWEVER: if it'd been me, I'd have sent it to Heritage Auctions.  8)

But THANK YOU for calling my attention to that -- it's the first decent photos I've seen of the TM version!! Copy 'em while you can...

I managed to cquire one of these a couple years back. With the Schaller tremolo.  In the guy's ad he shows a COA that says 1 of 3.  His is a 2004. Mine is a 2003 and my COA days 1 of 30. I took that to mean 1 of 30 total- both hardtails and tremolo versions together. I have counted more than 3.  Though. Mine, his, one on youtube, and a couple more in pics on the net. So there is more than 3 out there with floyds. I'm going to guess like 10 or so.  Some have dot inlays, others don't. US market vs Japanese market? Maybe there were 3 made without dot inlays? Who knows.  But most likely I don't think there are more than 10 out there total with floyds on them.

Please don't quote that $600 mutt as legit. That thing claimed as an NX6 custom shop is neither a custom shop NX6 or even a standard NX3.

Frankly, I was surprised to see it at all. I'd once conjectured that all the NX3 had been reworked by unscrupulous weasels into counterfeit Nunos, so I was bemused at a clone NX6 made from an actual Nuno body. :o
