How old is my d-10-b
« on: June 06, 2016, 09:30:13 AM »
I have been given an old washburn that was my uncles. He died in 98 and it has been pasted around til i learned how to play a few years ago. The serial number is 96020438.  It seems like it is from 1996 but I believe it is much older than that. Cant find any info on model # d-10-b not sure when those were being produced.

Here is a bit of info on your D10.

D10
- dreadnought style, select spruce top, round soundhole, black pickguard, three-stripe bound body and rosette, mahogany back/sides/neck, 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, rosewood bridge with pearl dot black pins, three-per-side chrome Grover tuners, available in Black, Blueburst, Natural, Trans. Red, or Sunburst finish, mfg. 1990-2000.
Grading 100% Excellent Average
$245 $125 - 175 $75 - 100
Last MSR was $350.

The phrase "select spruce" means it's laminated.  If it had a solid wood top it would be a D10S.  The "b' is the color indicator, so i assume your guitar is black.  It was made in 1996.  It has a current value of about $100, depending on condition.
