What is an asian made N4
« on: September 24, 2016, 01:06:52 PM »
I have a line on a 1995 N4.  Wikipedia describes how to find the Made in Japan (MIJ) N4s - no serial on headstock and a red serial on topside of the next when removed.

How can I tell if it is one of the 'asian' N4's?  The headstock has a stamp indicating March of 1995. The seller says it doesn't have Made in the USA stamped anywhere on it, but I can't definitely find that the N4s had that except for the Davies models.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have a '94 USA made N4 without the Made in USA stamp.  Seems it wasn't uncommon for N4s made shortly after the Davies era to lack the USA stamp.

I'm not sure I can help otherwise.  I think the MIJ had a different truss rod access and one or two other minor differences though I can't specifically recall.
