D44SW Golden Harvest - Laquer inside
« on: November 05, 2017, 09:37:36 AM »
i own a D44SW and noticed that the inside of the guitar is laquered. The back, top, sides and bracings are covered in a unfinished laquer. Does anybody know what this is all about? Does it affect tone? Also when i reglued the bridge i noticed that the finish on a d25s is a lot thicker than i thought. Why did they put so much finish on the guitars back in the days? Newer guitars use a lot less laquer in my opinion.

there are lots of builders ( handbuilts ) who spray on the inside of their guitars so no big deal really

Nice guitar the D44SW. I had one and also the D42SW which I still have. These are Washburn's best Korean builts.
