Dating a vintage Washburn Parlour, 1895?
« on: November 29, 2017, 06:44:27 PM »
Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and a new owner of an old Washburn parlour guitar.

I was hoping I could get some help on finding out roughly what year this instrument could be from, I bought it because it plays great, looks cool and I like
small guitars, but the story attached to the guitar says it was purchased originally in the year 1895, and even played in the Grand Ole Opry at some point. Apparently.

I've linked to my photobucket account which will hopefully take you to some pictures for clues. Theres a sticker and serial number inside, evidence of a tail piece, bridge was reset in recent years for intonation. I've been doing some research and feel it could be a 1915 ish model, but if it was indeed 1895 then that would be nice!

Any help would be greatly appreciated :) Link for photos is below.
Thanks in advance if anyone can help
Tom

looks like a model 111 made around 1905-1910 tail piece was not original on this guitar

Thanks for the reply, I'll have to try and look into that model further :)
