Serial number help.

Hi I've bought an MG440 & am trying to find out a bit about it. Serial number is 3110237, everything I can find says the first 2 digits are the year of manufacture, but I think its pretty unlikely it was manufactured in 1931!
Can anyone help please, I'd also like to know where it was manufactured, I am assuming Korea.

Those were 1994-1996. Definitely import, probably indeed Korea, though I wouldn't be surprised at Indonesia.
