Bridge pickup recommendations for my N24
« on: December 15, 2018, 10:15:47 PM »
I'm looking for recommendations for the bridge of my Washburn N24. It's an agathis body, rosewood neck, Floyd Rose. I already replaced the Washburn neck pickup with a Jazz. The BL bridge pickup seems very sterile to me. No creaminess to it whatsoever. I've read the bright, high output pickups work well in an agathis body. Would the DD be any different than the Bill Lawrence? What do you guys recommend?
Amps: Ceriatone Chupacabra, Marshall DSL40c, Yamaha THR10x, Boss Katana head
Guitars: Peavey Wolfgang, Gibson Les Paul Traditional, Washburn N24, Homemade Frankenstrat, Partsocaster, CV Telecaster

The BL pickup has a ceramic magnet.  These are known for being bright, and to some ears, harsh.
You could try a Seymour Duncan 59 Hybrid, which uses a ceramic magnet in half of the humbucker.  Some good YouTube videos on that pickup.
The Seymour Duncan website has sounds clips and EQ graphs of all the pickups.  It will help you hone in a little closer to what you are looking for.
