[Discussion] How much does skill really matter?
« on: February 15, 2019, 04:29:10 AM »
A recent anecdote that I can use as an example is Gibson's Facebook page. They had put a picture of Post Malone playing a Gibson guitar of some kind. I'm not a fan of the guy's music, and was a little curious as to why Gibson was promoting him. So I went to YouTube and typed in "Post Malone guitar" and watched a video. Sure enough, the guy can play. Can he play well? Eh, kinda. Is he a "guitar god?" Absolutely not. But can he play? Yes, he can. And he can play well enough to be a guitar player in a band.
