I can't really say that I can play finger style but I do spend a lot of time trying to thumb and finger pick Travis style.

Thumbs,
I finger pick quite a bit. It's the only way you can make it through a James Taylor song. If you have any good tabs for finger pickin' I'd like to play them sometimes.

I finger pick a lot and if you are doing a solo or duo thing without the bass fingerpicking gives you a chance to fill in the bass and melody of the song that using a pick doesn't and having played bass since I was a youth it made finger picking more natural.

What really developed my fingerpicking was learning banjo.  It opened up a new world on acoustic guitar!

Hi,
I'm new here, but I basically play nothing but fingerstyle!  I'm al Chet, Jerry Reed, Tommy Emmanuel type stuff.  I play some solo gigs, but am not really a proffessional in that I don't make a living playing guitar.  You can hear a couple of my recordings on Sony's acid planet:

hope you like!

Smileywiley....nice finger style.  Sounds pretty good.  I hope I can be half that good someday.  I am just now starting to explore finger sytle and I am by no means a finger style player.  Sounded really good though.

Howdy Thumbs.  I don't have enough posts to e-mail ya' but I'm in Crossville too and I'd like to find some people to get together and pick with.  Shoot me an e-mail at   dfharvey@citlink.net  if you get the chance.  Talk to ya' later.
