When did the Yairi factory burn down?
« on: December 24, 2018, 09:09:52 AM »
I read that Washburn acoustics were made in the Yairi factory (of Alvarez fame!) from 1974 until the factory burned down, but I cannot find a precise date for when that factory burned down other than "the mid-80's."
Anyone know?

I am not aware that either Yairi company has ever suffered a catastrophic fire.

The Matsumoku factory burned in 1988. The company had gone bankrupt in 1987.
