Active pick-up for washburn 5 srting bass J
« on: September 14, 2005, 03:38:07 PM »
I purchased a washburn 5 string bass that is not made any more and it has j style pickups with an active volume or e q not sure.
I wanted to change the pick ups to an active set. What style of active pick ups could I use on this bass.
Any Ideas? The 5 string j style from emg does not fit. :{
Please someone help!

Look for Bartolini and Seymour Duncan.
On their sites they have a huge choice of PU's and there are all dimensions specified so you'll surely find an active PU replacement that fits without re-routing the bass.
Also,be aware that you'll probably need to buy an active onboard preamp for that active PU wich has to be loaded properly impedance-wise.
Good luck!
