Stripping my bass.....adding figured top....
« on: December 15, 2005, 02:23:41 AM »
ok so i finally found a MB40, brand spankin new, still in the box...it should be here tomorrow.....

im going to rip it apart and sand down the body, it is supposed to be soft maple, hopefully theres not a buttload of sap wood in it, nice and light colored i hope, but heres what i was thinkin....
from back to top....
indian rosewood, 1/8 probably going to make a nice control cover out of wood also....along with battery compartment...
then the soft maple body
then for the top i was think a 1/16 of either koa or bubinga,
then for the top either spalted maple, or birds eye maple....i'm not sure if i want a dark top or a light top....

any opinions?
Real bassists know when to play, BUT more importantly when NOT to play...........
