MG 42
« on: February 22, 2003, 05:03:50 PM »
I've recently seen this model, the MG 42 in a pawn shop. They know next to nothing about it and when I got talking in my local guitar shops, they knew nothing either. Can't track it down anywhere....

Can anyone help? If you own one and can tell me anything about it I'd be really grateful. What did they retail for in the UK when they came out? Any reviews you can send me?

They are asking $200 for it. Does that sound about right?

the MG means its a Mercury series guitar, which I am totaly enamored with

i have an MG40 which is a very similar guitar    mine just has a hum single single pickup configuration where as that one has 2 hums

if its in good shape that is a great guitar

it will go with any ibanez of similar make (rg, jem, ect)

and yes that sounds about right for the price

I went ahead and bought the MG 42. Some new strings, slight bridge adjustment. Plays really well. Thanks for your help.
