Washburn Guitars Announces New Idol Bass

Chicago, IL – December 26, 2006 – Washburn Guitars is pleased to announce the addition of the WB66 series to its line of basses. This is the first bass in Washburn’s Idol Series, and features a solid mahogany body, mahogany neck, soapbar pickups, and a rosewood fingerboard. It’s ideal for rock and blues bassists.



The Idol Basses are available in Trans Red and Black, and will have a list price of $899.90 and will debut at Winter NAMM 2007 in Anaheim.

YES!!  These are the kind of announcements that I like.  Great job Washburn!!  Can y'all also announce special runs like this?  After all, it's a global market these days, right?

That's a beautiful bass. I'll have to show it to my bassist in my new band. He loves my Washburn and agrees with me that they are REALLY well made. So he might be interested in getting one of them. When will they be available for purchase?

Hey,

I am a pretty new Washburn dealer and ordered a couple of these basses in Gold. I liked them so much I kept one for my studio, but still have another in stock if anybody is so inclined. Anyway they really look and sound great and the action is superb. I personally have a Carvin 6-string custom bass, a Galveston 12-strg bass, and a Precision knock off. This Idol feels like it's going to be my main bass. I used to have a bunch of others but I think I have the right combo now!
