Hello everyone...

I'm realizing that being away for a while from the washburn forum was a sad thing for my english. [:(!]

I searching for about two week about guitar tab. If someone of you have it or can share it to me that would be really appreciate. I'm looking for Chet Atkins WILDWOOD FLOWER tab song. I've got that song in my head for a while. I just can't wait to play it on my Washbrun OS OE-30 semi-hollowbody....

Almost all of the tab site are closed... [V][:(!][:(!][:(]

Those who know my e-mail can respond me...!!!
THANKS

PIKE: do you know about classical/nylon guitar RENAISSANCE...? I got one of them since about 1980's. Don't know anything about it. I ask many time in local guitar shop but they can't answer me. (still in mint condition).

June Carter/Cash wrote that song, I believe. She married Johnny Cash.

The Carter family is considered the First family of country music.

June Carter did not write Wildwood flower, her mother Maybelle Carter is credited with Wildwood Flower.  However, she did not write the song either, it is an old folk song, but she did arrange the guitar picking in the song after her style of play which became known as the Carter Scratch.

You can find out more here at
 www.pbs.org/wgbh/amex/carterfamily/

There is a lot of good history there and there are a couple of good clips of Gillian Welch breaking down the song wildwood flower.

Pappy, wildwood flower was performed well before June Carter Cash was born. It originated with the original Carter family which included Ma Maybelle and she mostly performed it on her auto harp. In later years June , Anita, Helen and their mom, Ma Maybelle became part of the Johny Cash show..Just a bit of trivia....SteveC

I stand corrected. I knew that Maybelle did the song but for some reason I just had June on my mind when I typed it. One of those Old Timers moments when the brain doesn't work properly...I have lots of those moments.

I have no idea when the song was written but I think the Carter family are the ones that made it a hit.

Thanks to all of you.... that was pretty instructive, now I know who are the Carter Familly. I remember of june carter in johnny cash movie Walk the line (now)...!!! But I was thinking that it was chet atkins that play that song fisrt, as a matter of fact, that is the only version that I have seen (you tube)...

PIKE = Probably it was mine, because, I used to have put picture of that guitar model by the past. But I never know the year, or the value of it, that was my first guitar (daddy gift to me)...

millenium,

You were partly right. Ol' Chet was the first to play lead, rhythm and bass with one instrument![;)]
