It's not in bad shape, sounds good if I could quit snapping that dern e string lol. I think there is a burr or something on the bridge or the nut causing a cutting or kinking and when I get close to the very high e note it snaps...most of the time, and then as I retune it goes too soon.

Same thing happened to my fender fm52e.
filed a little on tail peice, never had problem
after. still fenders not a great mandolin maker lol.

The strings I have been using to replace the breaker is 8 gage, I had a few laying around and I have never yet bought a set of Mandy strings to put on new as a whole set. I have yet to really get in to playing it, but I know a few tunes picking. Got to learn the cords for it to strum sum.
