$600 oscar schmidt?
« on: January 30, 2007, 03:33:11 PM »
I've got a friend of mine looking at an Oscar Schmidt acoustic guitar at a local music store in Mooresville. I've checked all over the web and can't find an Oscar Schmidt even close to $600 anywhere. He just bought a used Washburn electric w/amp from this guy for $160 and is very happy with it. He already has a Les Paul and likes the Washburn as good. While I believe he got a good deal on the Washburn, I think the guy might be taking him for a ride on the O/S. I know toaster is an O/S dealer and I was hoping he or someone else could tell me if i'm right. I don't know the model # but the most expensive O/S i've seen so far is on the O/S web site and it's the suggested retail price of $389< and nobody sells them for that. Help me out guys, marky

No shiner I sure don't. But I've looked everywhere that I know to look and can't find one even remotely close to that price. I believe you are right about O/S being a low end Washburn, that's the way I take it anyway. I just don't want a buddy of mine to be taken advantage of. You know which direction I'm going to lead him in. Maybe I can start collecting some comission checks too. marky

That's kinda what I was thinking. I gotta work with him tonight, so I'm gonna tell him to hold off and do a little research on this before he buys it. I believe he'd be alot happier with a Washburn anyhow. And for $600 he can get a dern nice one. marky
