Hello I have been lurking for a while and would like to know if anybody is interseted in talking about music,I have been playing guitar for about 40 years now, and I thought it would be nice to start a conversation about music and how to play ones guitar for enjoyment and how to prepare yourselfs for the other end of music, the professional gigs and I am willing to share what ever knowledge I can about the palying of guitar.
I and a few other friends will eventually like to post some ways on improving your guitar playing and understanding of how chord progressions can help you use the whole fret board for songs that you like to play.
So please stay tuned for more to come later, right now I am tied up in the studio trying to get some song down for myself, and as a musician I would like to encourage you all to know that even after 40 years I am still learning different things about the guitar. So I thought I should take a oppertunity to help share this process and we can all progress as we can together.Thank you for your time and hopefully we all learn something together.Ship

Hi ship. Welcome to the forum. we occasionally discuss guitars, most of the time complain about how we've found a new buzz or about differences in strings. Nice to hear that youre in the studio- make sure you give us a link to buy some Ds when theyre recorded :]. OOh and make sure to post some pictures on a comfy couch! (kind of mandatory here)

hahahaha how was your vacation?

Welcome Ship!  First we need a few pictures of your couch.  Put your guitars on it if you want but it's really your furniture I'm interested in.

So what are you working on in the studio?  Originals?  Covers? Gregorian chants?

Hello Fretless Johnny,I am re-doing an old song Mr.Bojangles, and I am trying to bring it up to date, also spent a lot of time trying out some Neil Young songs, along with one song for a friend on the forum, apperently she Likes Chris Issac,so I am attempting to record one for her,she knows which one, will have to work on that one some more didn't like the electric effects, so may go total acoustic, but hard to find someone willing to play an acoustic bass for free.Ship

Well Yan you will be happy to note that I to have a beautiful millenium, right now she is a tad sick and will be going in to see the docter real soon, she had developed a very slight intonation problem which was highly amplified while recording yesterday, which really makes me sad[:(] as she usually has a very crisp georgous sound come out of her,but I am thinking that it has to do with the bone saddle not sitting flush completley, just an ever so slight lift on one side compared to the other,so will be going back into the studio next week to re-record my new songs,it is funny that we didn't catch it while recording it wasn't till we finished our mix where it really showed to be ever so slightly off on the lower frets.louis

Hey Ship,

Do we get to hear Bojangles when you are done with it.  That is a great song, I heard Jerry Jeff Walker do it in an outdoor concert ... many years ago...
