Idol Series / Re: The Idol has risen from the dead!!

+1, especially this: "If you're gonna go after LP players, then renew the WI-45, & make it an upgrade path to the WI-66PRO", this: "Make the BFTS a $20 option" and this: "Make the VCC an OPTION".

Still loving the WI-45 (though my daughter has it now) and, though I have not done it, I do like the WI-66 upgrade path.

That's my understanding - so you pop in a "dummy" 1/4" plug to activate the pre-amp. The flip side of this is that, so long as the 1/4" is plugged in, the pre-amp is on and using battery. If you do not unplug after use, your pre-amp's battery will drain out.

Shiner! Bock! Bock! Bock!

Using the D10SCE right now in double drop D for Cinnamon Girl. Honestly, though, Taylor 110 has become my main acoustic squeeze and I just bought into the Fender world with a 2011 MIM HSS Strat and a new laquered tweed Blues Jr. That Blues Jr. is a real sweetie - love it! My WI45 doesn't like the new amp as much as my old Univox LP copy does. Might be selling the WI45 (if my daughter doesn't get it for free).

Good to hear from you.

I've had a lot of trouble with Behringer mixers - 1202FX. To my mind, the quality just isn't there. i tend to side with the Roland Street Cube recommendation. Good quality gear.

Hey Ship, sad to hear. I certainly have appreciated your guidance and knowledge over the years. Fare well.

Interesting tip! I'll have to try that although tone is just fine with Martin SP phosphor / bronze .12 - .53. Thanks!

+1 on tone. My WG2S just sings forever.

D10 Series / Re: D10E

I paid between CDN $400 and $450  for my new D10SCE about 7 years ago, HSC included. Not sure if it's comparable to what you're looking at. Great guitar. Plays like an electric in terms of action. Generally, the D10 series has been tremendously successful - billed as "best acoustic under $500".

Just heard of the passing of Ron Hynes, probably most famous for Sonny's Dream. The world just lost a good Newf storyteller. R.I.P. Ron.

Most folks use Photobucket, a free service. I use TinyPics - same deal.  Post pics up to one of those services, copy forum link and paste here. Lots of folks have described the process in more detail on here - you can search it.

Would love to see the pics.
