Hey nogin,
we don't currently have any USA acoustic production, only electric.  I'm working on something so maybe in the near future if all goes well.

Bring production back to its American roots... what's happenin' currently obviously ain't workin'.

You can't possibly think that stopping overseas production is the way to save the company.  If that's true, then we need more than smart and passionate idea-people, we need miracle workers who can magically re-arrange the market so that USA made guitars are 90% of our business instead of the other way around.  You do realize we have guiars made in America NOW, right?

the D6S in particular was launched right before Jam bought USM.  Just about the entire line was discontinued after that.  there was nothing wrong with the design, just bad timing.

It's a shame this isn't communicated in the catalogue. It's all a bit sparse and people are reading the worst into what's there.

2 EC29s, 2 KC90s, NX3, RS8-V, G2-V, RR2-V, WI64 and a whole load of Indies

It will be communicated in the new catalog that we are just finishing up.

Hey Tio,
i just posted the body specs from the WI67PRO.  It looks like it could be an actual quilt cap.

General Discussion / New Idols/LP bodies

this was a rebuilding year.  we will have some high end stuff coming out soon.  i will have Idols and RX and XM guitars with USA Duncan and EMG pickups.  just can't do everything all at once and the low end is the highest percentage of business.  hang in there.

Lack of flair?  oh well, everyone has different taste.  The 15, 25, 35, 45, 55 all have abalone rosette and purfling.  Cedar tops are offered on several models.  We are actually paying more for Fishman because we thought is was a better system.  The Woodline is pretty unique with the open pore finish, maple FB and headstock inlay.  Anyway, this is just the start.  We started with low end because that's where the market is right now.  If we came out with a new line that was mostly high end we'd be out of business.  Demand on the new acosutics is very high.  Dealers have been getting these for a few months now and we underestimated our needs, especially on the 5's and 7's.  We'll get it all worked out by the end of the year though.

No he did not break any rules.  I'm with Dugly and Toaster 100% on this one.
Quinn, i had to edit your last post because i can't have you bad mouthing MF like that.  They are a very important customer of ours and i can't allow it.

thanks
Nick

Idol Series / So..."new" Idol?

Rocket,
I would love to do more in the US.  The only reason we've had to scale back is because of demand.  We are currently working on new USA guitars to help kick start sales again.  Hopefully, we will be able to release at Winter Namm.

good catch.  we'll let AMS know.

They were produced in 2000.  I have an order in our old system that was received in November of 2000 for 116 pcs.  Looks like 98 of them went to Mars.
