I love Bob Dylan songs, when playing my D10S.

Favorites: It Ain't Me Babe (the Am & Bm chords sound absolutely beautiful on the D10S); and Like A Rolling Stone. There are tons of them!

Also like playing the Neil Young acoustic songs. I have just started playing the harmonica & just today learned Heart Of Gold playing both instruments...which sounds awesome together!!

Hmmmm...My favorite folk song is English - Greensleeves!  I used to play that over and over years ago.  I like Ralph Vaughn Williams Fantasia on Greensleeves, too.

I tried to find a suitable classical version of Greensleeves for my C10, but decided to come up with my own verison.  If I get it polished enough, I'll post it somewhere and you can tell me what you think of it.  Just don't shoot me down too fast! ;)

Four Strong Winds by Great Speckled Bird(Ian and Sylvia Tyson)is my favorite folk song. The Ballad of Yarmouth Castle by Gordon Lightfoot is a very close second. If you don't know them, take a listen. These are great songs, and it's not just because I'm Canadian.Beware-The Ballad is addictive, and if you don't sing it bi-weekly,you'll get some of the verses mixed up.I even forgot a verse once!!
Peace/out!My kids are better looking than your kids!

My guitar teacher arranged a lovely version of Greensleeves for me in the '60s.  I could most likely scan it in and email it if would like it.

Cool. Scan, photobucket, and post it here if you would, it'd be nice to see if it has something to add to the various other versions...

What is your FAVORITE folk song on your Washburn  -- or blues song  ...

Right now my fave is "Wayfaring Stranger", but I prefer Eva Cassidy's jazzy version here:

For fingerstyle, it's "(I Heard You) Talking in Your Sleep" by Gordon Lightfoot (I do it as an instrumental only):

My favorite traditional folk song is a tie between Wild Mountain Thyme and Wade in the Water. My favorite "contemporary" (at least 50 years old) folk song is Tom Paxton's Last AThing On My Mind.

Pick one? Surely you jest. ::)
On my D10S ?  In no particular order - Marty Sexton's "Freedom of the Road" & R. Salley's "Killing the Blues"(just don't play 'em back-to-back),  Dylan's "I shall be released" (original medium boogie - NOT Robbie's dirge), Neil's "Cinnamon Girl", & two of mine, "Wonder Weasel" & "Peshtigo".
