Yeah, I'm on there.  I'm surprised that more of us aren't, to be honest with you.  I know a lot of you are much better than I am.

Since Nick called for strummers, I thought I'd get the ball rolling by strumming something, but Mike beat me to it, and posted some picking numbers.  It wasn't until last night that I posted my flatpicking break.  Oh, well! It's a lot of fun to play, anyway!

Took me a while to get the nerve up to do this!  I thought I'd do a finger picking one and a strum/picking one.

Mark...I LOVE the I'll Fly Away.  I think I'll try to pick that out sometime soon.  I like the Banjo Ben youtube channel as well and have been working on the Old Home Place lead.

I think your stuff sounded great man, keep it up!

For anybody thinking about it but bummed that 35 seconds is not enough, i've been allowing up to 45 seconds.  Come on, we gotta get at least 3 contestants since we have 3 prizes.  Who's game?

Thanks!  I like a lot of what Banjo Ben does, and plan on learning the Foggy Mountain Breakdown, but good gracious - it's a handful!  Between that and learning Barrios and Albeniz, I'm swamped! [;)]

I also like the fingerpicking style you show in your E Diddy piece.  Great stuff, that!

It's kinda funny...with both of us expressing the same sentiments about our guitar playing, I thought that with as much talent as there was on this board, we'd be left in the dust on this one.  Hey, we still may be!!

OK, THE CONTEST IS OVER, nobody post anything else!  (Just kidding [:)])

They just extended the contest to June 16th.  I think they outta give me and Mark a D10s each and call it a contest since we were the lone contestants!  [:D]

Thanks for the kind words!  That E piece is something I've been playing with and adding to for years.  There's more to it, maybe I'll video it someday.

I think they should pack two D10's into two gig bags, send one to each of you, then kick the hoodie to the dumpster.

I agree with the first part, but I'll take the hoodie.

I don't perform Hotel California... that would be infringement. I play Motel Colorado... similar, but definitely NOT the same.

I'm not exactly sure where my J58 is... I haven't seen it in quite a while.

Not really a riff. I've tried hard to put together some acoustic riffs but I just can't seem to capture it. I've also queried some of my mates and they don't get it either... so it's not just me.

Oh yeah, that's right, my built in forgeter at work. Still sounded great, why not find that Washburn? I'd take the hoody off your hands.

I have a Hitachi DZ-MV550A DVD video recorder.  It records in DVD-RAM format on 8cm disks.  One problem: the DVD-RAM format is a .vro file.  This file has to be converted to an .mpg, .avi, or other file compatible with YouTube.  Since my upgrade to XP, the software that converts the file to .mpg won't work.  So...I have to use my old laptop with W2K to download and convert the files.  Kind of a pain until I can find a workaround or better program that works with XP.

I think the newer Sony DVD Handi-cams work in a friendlier format.

I'm not so sure about that, Buddha.  I don't think the rules say you have to be playing a Washburn.

Toaster,
I think this means only Washburn acoustics

3) Successful uploading/submission of one (1) or two (2) 35-second video clips to YouTube.com demonstrating the entrant’s best playing ability on a Washburn acoustic guitar.

I submitted a quick video yesterday just for fun, but it hasn't shown up. Maybe it won't. Maybe too late.
I would liked to have used my Martin because I haven't played the Washburns in a while and the necks are as different as night and day.

Mark,

I played a little Blackbird on my D121S. I haven't played the tune or the guitar for quite a while so it is a little rusty. The mosquitoes were vicious so I only did one take.

I'm like you and Mike, a little nervous but thought what the heck, the contest needed a third player.

I filled the form out again because I used the embed html instead of the embed code, dah.

If It doesn't make it on, I will post a link later so you can see it.

I enjoyed the videos you and Mike put up quite a lot. I also am a Banjo Ben fan.

Good luck to both you and Mike,
     Jack

Bluegrass...I think WB has to approve the vids so I'm betting yours will shop up Monday.

The contest is supposed to be over today but they extended it for some reason...I guess they weren't happy with the # of entrants.  So, we may be going back and forth like this all summer until 50 people sign in, who knows.

In any event, it's been fun and good luck to you and MCloud!!

EDIT: Nevermind. I'm too young. BS much?

Washburn N2, Washburn F10S

Maybe one day...... they will re-release the Town & Country or......maybe actually release the Mandola.

My Washburn mandolin collection (the, uh, 1 that I have) is approaching 90 years old.  I could stand an update.[:o)]

Hey, Jack, I like your entries!  I couldn't hear as well on the Blackbird number, but what I could hear I like. [:)]

Seems as though we're going to be the few that post anything...

It's going to be a long three weeks. [;)]
