Title: I have a question about a Washburn D100M Guitar
Post by: cardcollecta12 on August 06, 2015, 07:43:15 PM
Hi, I'm new to the forum and I'm looking to clarify a question on my newest pickup.  I purchased this guitar to start playing because I wanted a new hobby to get into.  I was wondering the year it was made?  I can't seem to find a similar label for my second image online.
Model Number:  D100M
Serial Number:  G00121468

Looks like from the serial number that it was built in 2000.

It is an all laminate guitar...if it had a solid wood soundboard it would have an S in the model designation, and if it were all solid wood there would be an SW.

At first I thought that maybe the "M" in the model designation might have meant "Mahogany", but after seeing your pics I think Macassar Ebony is more likely...mahogany is more "red" and is more consistent in color. Hog can be banded, but it does not have those darker bands, but Macassar Ebony does.

Cheers!!

I'm not seeing the ebony style on their website though under 2000.  Also, I emailed Washburn support and they just confirmed it was mahogany,  unsure if they're correct or not still.  I'll get some better pictures tonight.
