Hi
I'm very interested in a D-49 appears to be a "Limited Edition" Spalted Maple top/B/S. Does any one know about these? Good or great guitar? Solid top or all laminate? Stunning to look at and just wondering if these are worth buying. Thanks

limited edition guitars are almost impossible to get information on you will need to call customer service to find out more about it. ship

Generally, Washburn acoustics with higher model numbers are of higher quality than the lower-numbered models. I can guess it's a decent midrange guitar. And because it's a D rather than WD, it was made 2010 or earlier.
Ship is correct -- that's about all the information there generally is to be found; I figured you didn't give us the whole model number, which is... odd.
In this instance, you luck out. According to a press release posted 09/09/2008 by Premier Guitar, Washburn announced the "new Limited Edition Rare Wood Series -- the D49SPK and the D49CESPK." And Bluegrass Today adds that MSRP were $999.90 & $1,169.90, respectively.
