Title: Washburn J28SCEDLM
Post by: Deacon on March 29, 2006, 11:04:36 AM
Alright you J28 owners, let me pick your brain a bit on this one.  A very nice looking J28SCEDLM has caught my eye.  It's a 2001, Equis electronics (I'm not familiar with this 4 band system with a chorus switch), tree of life inlay on the neck, no pick guard (HOORAY!), and a hard shell case.

Can anyone cast some light on this baby?  Does anyone here own one?  It sure is nice looking.  I can parse this much from the designation:

J= Jumbo
S= Solid top
C= Cutaway
E= Electric
DL= Deluxe

...but what does the M stand for?

Heh heh heh... I've been doing some research, and I think it is a designator for Mars Music (now bankrupt).  Washburn made an exclusive run of J28SCEDL guitars with a cedar top, and the vine of life inlay on the neck.  Unfortunately, I think I may have bid too much on this one.  I hope someone outbids me. :-)

Wow, a possible answer to a nagging question as to the m in my 2002 J28SCEDLM!  The top looks like cedar and is much darker-toned than a Spruce and it has the Tree of Life neck and no pGuard.. ...  As well, i was told it has a B-Band pick-up.  Awesome all round for 429.00.

Cheers<

I thought they all did, but apparantly in 2001 they did not.  Does your guitar say that it does?  You know, B-Band as opposed to Equis.

Just checked, it is a B-Band on my '02.  Any thoughts on this model and it's Cedar top VS the more commonly made Spruce version?

Anyone know what the DL, Deluxe designation in the J28SCEDLM refers to vs. the J28SCED...?
