« on: November 23, 2010, 03:53:31 PM »
Sounds like problem I had with my new Les Paul...checked all wiring turned out was internal wire in pickup problem. Bought on ebay us but found a guy in UK that did pickup repairs and is superb now...turned out was sold as he did not like the sound lol....he sold a cracking guitar,, check over the pickup with meter should get a much lower reading if it is faulty.

N Series (Nuno Bettencourt) / N4 Bill Lawrence pickup confusion

That is a Bill Lawrence made in USA. Chances are he used a Bill Lawrence by Bill Lawrence now Bill&Becky. He was in partnership that split and the other guy grabbed the name for the company. TBH unless you have great ears the USA one will still be fine for you.

Sounds weird to me that saddles are hitting the body then you move the whole thing back? Were the saddles moved forward to alter intonation? I may be visualising this wrong but saddles were moved forward then teh whole trem has been moved back sure the intonation is latered in the process....I'll wait for photos with interest.

Hey Bram you do your thing and don't feel guilty or apologise for it!! If you want a quality pup though and after a specific sound i cannot speak highly enough of the guy at Bareknuckle Pickups. i emailed him telling him what guitar I was installing pups, the wood etc and what sound was after and his recommendation was spot on. Think was about $175 for a matched set worth every penny if you think of it as the service you were getting  for it too.

Anyway the pups you have suggested may be what you are after, i have no idea but the BKs are just a suggestion for you. Good luck and let us know how you get on. The 94 Paddy is a beautiful guitar!!
