damn smartass.

2
sorry to say, this might disapoint most washburn fans, but i would suggest the fender. sorry everyone, but im for high quality over brand loyalty- not to say that the fender is high quality, but it beats the Lyon

3
but they should be- i have the G2-V, and it plays better than a lot of guitars made nowadays. im sure the entire panther series was good, esspecially scince i love to g2-V and the g5-V is a higher model.

4
didn't you ask about this earlier?

i wouldnt buy from musician's friend, but you won something, so youre still cool. they only sell about 3 or 4 washburn acoustics, and no washburn electrics or basses

General Discussion on Washburn Electric Guitars / 1981 G-2V
« on: August 17, 2003, 01:30:21 PM »
already tried- won't transfer to the internet. thats not how my neckplate is, but i'm convinced that it's just a 1988 panther G-2V. it doesnt really matter anyway, cuz i'm not planning on giving it away. it says G-2V on the headstock, so it's a G-2V. but to me, it's my guitar. im not selling it, so it doesnt matter anyway.[:p]

that seems right i guess, but my dad got it before 1988 so that might set back your theory. he said he got it around 1983- hope this helps, but i'm pretty sure it won't because this is really confusing.

maybe you're right and my dad got the date wrong... i have no idea.

wait, maybe this can solve it- whats a Buffalo Grove Neckplate look like?

ok, i've read a good deal about them, but i still don't know how they work. how can the line 6 guitars know what your playing if they don't have pickups? at least all the pics I've seen of them don't have pickups.

you're all right.. getting technichal is really only good for solos, cuz it does get boring and confusing a lot of times.

but that can't be right- the serial number is 810814, so i'm postive that it's an 1981 model. maybe it's some custom s**t or a promo guitar or maybe it has different washburn parts put together or something, like a Force series body with a G-2V neck... would that be possible? my dad could never find the paperwork on it, so i'm still clueless.[:(]

yeah, it's the G-2V Panther- pointed headstock gave it off. besides, it said G-2v on the headstock.

damn, only $100? i'm not thinking of selling it, but shouldn't it be worth a LITTLE more scince it's kinda old? i guess i could see that though, cuz it's not the BEST guitar, probably one of the worse Washburns, but still an excellent guitar for it's age and plays very well compared to most other guitars of that age.

OK- just got back yesterday from the local shop. (long time scince i've been there.) i tried out a couple of guitars (washburns of course!) i saw the EA18, and i took it down from the stand. played it- it still was the greatest acoustic guitar i'd ever played.

then i saw the NV100- black, beautiful, and waiting for me to play it. some really good guy had just set it down. i picked it up and played it- THE ABSOLUTE BEST. i swear it had more tone than any Taylor ever. you're right Accept2- that was WAY better.  and even better- it was on sale for ONLY $900!!! if i ever get a good job, thats what i'm getting!!!
