I realy like the Blackstars, I run them stereo thru a Digitech RP1000, they sound great on there own and just as good with the RP1000, I like them better than the Blackheart.

General Discussion / Replacement Pickups for WI64DL
« on: December 07, 2009, 09:31:44 AM »
The WI64DL use a standard size humbucker, do you need the pickup rings/screws/springs too, if so they are different sizes, the bridge one is higher that the neck one. has some goos priced ones with a few choices.

Idol Series / Dilemma: used WI66 Anc or new WI66 Pro
« on: December 05, 2009, 09:47:39 AM »
Washburn released a ANC model I had one, the Boggie street version is the same with some extras done to it. The ANC body is about 1/2 inch thicker than a WI66, which I also had (WI66G with stack P90) and has an ebony fret board. Both where made in Korea.

General Discussion on Washburn Electric Guitars / WI66ANC vs WI66PSB
« on: July 28, 2008, 07:07:03 AM »
Thx metalgoth, I did just that, picked up the ANC. I took it all apart and cleaned and waxed, new string and set it up. Surprised to find that the 3 way switch is a good one not that boxed cheapo, the rest of the electronics are EMG. I was surprized the ANC body is about 1/2 -3/4 thicker than the PROG but weights about the same 8lbs. The craftsmanship on the ANC is very nice, great fret job, the ebony neck is silky smooth. Very stable the string tention is balance all over the neck. The PSB was a great price but didn't play the same. The ANC is got to be one of the best Korean made guitars out of washburn. The only thing to change/upgrade is the bridge to a tonepros, but she play so sweat as is, i don't know if I will. The ET graphic on the body is a decal, don't know if it's that way on the USA models.

General Discussion on Washburn Electric Guitars / WI66ANC vs WI66PSB
« on: July 25, 2008, 02:47:28 PM »
I'm looking at purchasing one or the other, both are new, a WI66ANC with gigbag for 699 or a WI66PSB (silver burst) no gigbag for 399. I been play'n both at the store. The ANC feels/plays better and I have a WI66PROG which feels better than the WI66PSB. Both have about the same setup and both need a little tweaking. Having a hard time if the ANC is worth the extra 300. EMG vs SD I do like the EMG better, I have a set of 81/85 I could put in the WI66PSB. The neck on the ANC feels/plays better, which is the main thing when it come to guitars. I know it's ebony vs rosewood. The anc is heavier much thicker body and the neck joint is thicker too, but only at the joint with the body, the WI66PSB feels lighter than my WI66PROG which is all mahogany no maple cap. I have to till Sunday night at those prices, it's one or the other I can't have them both. Looking for comments, thanks.

Great score, she looks a little like a flat top Pilsen idol with the way the neck joint looks, the dot inlays and the neck looks a little bigger than the import idols. The P90's on the WI66PROG are stacked humbuckers, one coil on top of the other, yours could be too by the look of the bridge pickup being so high, check it out when you do the setup.

She sure looks sweet, treat her right and she give you plesure. I would love to pick one of those up just like yours in black.

I would say it's a Custom order, looks like original to me, no marks where bridge and tail would be.
