General Discussion on Washburn Electric Guitars / MIJ N4 price?
« on: December 11, 2008, 08:54:57 AM »
How much is a MIJ Washburn N4 worth in US dollars?  I've been getting some offers for it, but I have no idea how much I would sell it for.

Has anyone replaced the BL in the bridge with something else.  The BL seems a bit thin to me.  Love the 59 in the neck though.  I'm looking for a bit of a warmer sound, kind of like early Van Halen.

Here she is.  I got her all set up, with a D-Tuna.  Got the wiring all straightened out.

I just wanted to make everyone aware of this forum member.  He sold me a made in Japan N4.  Here is his posting,,n4.  As you can see, the post states hard case included.  I also received an email from him stating that is was indeed a hard case.  It arrived in a cheap gigbag.  He also sent me pictures of the guitar, showing the strap buttons and a certain type of Floyd Rose.  It arrived with no strap buttons, and a different bridge.  When I asked if there were any problems with the guitar, he said no issues at all.  Well, I plugged it in, and the pickup selector didn't work.  I opened the cavities on the back of the guitar, and half of the wiring was disconnected.  I have a white wire going from the volume pot cavity to the pickup selector cavity, that is completely disconnected.  Also, the neck pickup wires are completely disconnected in the pickup selector cavity.  The only wire connected in the pickup selector cavity is a yellow wire going from the center point on the pickup selector switch to the volume pot cavity, where it is disconnected.  I've emailed him several times, and received no response.  I thought I'd give everyone on here a heads up about him.  Also, if anyone could help me out with the wiring, it would be much appreciated.  It is a 59 in the neck and a BL USA in the bridge.  I made sure to take them out and check.

General Discussion on Washburn Electric Guitars / Hard case for N4?

I need a case for my N4.  Does someone know what type of case will work?  I don't think a standard strat case will work, since the N4 is a bit smaller.

Has anyone used one of these?  I'm thinking of replacing the tremolo on my Made in Japan N4.  These look pretty good for the price,

General Discussion on Washburn Electric Guitars / D-tuning an N4
« on: August 25, 2008, 08:39:08 AM »
Does anyone have any experience with D-tuning an N4?  Has anyone installed something like a D-Tuna or a Tremol-no?  I also have a Peavey Wolfgang, and I like to ability to drop the E to D on the fly.  I realize that, in order to do this, I'll lose the ability to pull up on the Floyd Rose.  If anyone has done this on an N4, I'd love to hear about it.

General Discussion on Washburn Electric Guitars / Is this N2 a good buy?
« on: August 17, 2008, 08:31:34 PM »
Can anyone tell me if this is a good buy?  I emailed Washburn support with the serial number, 3061931, and they said it's a 1993 model.  I'm pretty new to the Washburn N series guitars, so I'm hoping someone on this forum will have a better idea about it.

General Discussion on Washburn Electric Guitars / N2 Tremolo question
« on: July 28, 2008, 03:04:31 PM »
Does anyone know why some of the N2s that I see have the tremolo mount completely within the recess on the guitar body, and some are mounted outside the recess?

Does anyone have any opinions about this,  It's a swamp ash body, and I've read a lot of postings where people say it's too bright sounding.  I can't understand why this person is selling it so cheap.  Any feedback would be appreciated.
