Hey,folks!Got what appears to be a d-10 model with a royal flush on the lower bout (in spades, yet!),and the 4 suit emblems as fret markers, king and ace of spades on the headstock. They're asking $350 (CDN),and it's within striking distance.Any info/input greatly appreciated!Peace,out-Jamie.

Hey,folks!Looking for some expert opinion here.Last time around,Ship steered me true,so I hope you're here again.Found a Washie 12,pics look good, but no mention of model.Could you glance at Kijiji Halifax Guitars ad ID 405280915.They're asking $425.I know another Canadian will have a better handle on used values here than our southern neighbours may have. Thanks a bunch!Peace,out-Jamie.

General Discussion / Learning The Hard Way
« on: April 26, 2012, 10:22:38 AM »
Hey,folks!I bought a new D10S12 from a place called Moe's Music here in Windsor,Nova Scotia. At the time,it was the only Washburn  in the store.I had been in playing and comparing different guitars about a dozen times before choosing the Washie.I'd never bought a new instrument before, and other than the price tag, there was no information with the guitar. The big lug who stuffed it into a generic gray gig bag after taking my money only had "enjoy" as advice.Apparently, what was a considerable amount of money to me didn't add up to enough to warrant any type of customer concern from him.Anyway, after seeing him handle my new pride and joy like he worked for American Airlines,I assured myself that he would never touch my guitar again. This outlet has never had another washburn in it,and now I wonder if I have (or had ) any warranty.I've had her about 3 years, loved it lots,re-strung it twice with Elixirs, and love that jangly thing that only a 12 string can deliver.I'm starting to buzz on my two courses of strings on the bass side (e-e,a-a) from frets 1 through 5,open ,fretted, or barred.Visibly seems okay, any suggestions?P.S.-Even if Moe's is an authorized Washburn servicer,I won't take my D10 to them. And if I don't  any warranty, ant diy advice would be appreciated.Thanks-Jamie.

Announcements & News / Contests And the 49th parallel
« on: April 18, 2012, 09:40:20 AM »
Hey,folks! This great, huge banner keeps popping up in bright orange, inviting me to win an HB35,and maybe even mildly dress it to my preferences.YES PLEASE !!When I registered my Epi for warranty purposes,Gibson also sent me numerous teases to enter contests.I can't help but think that we pay at least 30 percent more for goods on average ,but aren't eligible for any contests.Tell you what;take away the mild hot-rodding,bare-bones the HB,don't even put strings on it,bubble wrap it,and I'll even spring for duty/import fees.Come on,guys,I'm proud to be Canadian, but I'm not sure that warrants punishment!Okay, rant and roar,I'm getting to be a soapboxer. My Jumbo now lives in my brother's eldest daughter's hands,a province away.Guess I'm a sucker for more than just my own kids!Peace, out, and play 'em if you got 'em.-Jamie

D10 Series / jlg bridge doctor
« on: April 04, 2012, 08:07:49 AM »
Hey,folks!I have 2 things that have me scratching my head about my D10S12.I've read about the bridge doctor set-ups,and want to get opinions/experiences.I play daily, sometimes more than once with each guitar,so I don't de-tune when I'm done.I have loosely figured the combined pull of the elixirs I have on her to be approximately 215 pounds.I've seen no distortion of or around the bridge, going on 3 years. My other mental misdirection with (so far) my go-to guitar is I find myself wanting a more compound and pronounced fretboard radius. My big clutzy mechanic mitts seem less able to speed up on the flatter surface.AQny suggestions? Thanks in advance,peace,out-Jamie.
