Acoustic Guitar Players Post Comments & Questions / WD 21s Neck Joint FYI
« on: December 04, 2017, 06:20:40 AM »
Just in case someone is looking for the Info while preparing a Neck Reset on a WD21s: The Neck Joint on a WD21s/n from 1987 is a five dowel butt joint like this:

i own a D44SW and noticed that the inside of the guitar is laquered. The back, top, sides and bracings are covered in a unfinished laquer. Does anybody know what this is all about? Does it affect tone? Also when i reglued the bridge i noticed that the finish on a d25s is a lot thicker than i thought. Why did they put so much finish on the guitars back in the days? Newer guitars use a lot less laquer in my opinion.

I found this beauty on Ebay.

Serial begins with 94 so i think its a cedar top. The tone is beautiful, its not too loud or too bassy. Its very clear and bright but not thin. Waht i discovered is a small gap between Bridge and Top. Is this normal?

I found this beauty on ebay for 250. Such a nice ringing guitar with some soul...Any recommendations for strings?
