Well, last night my band did a hour show,  LIVE on a local radio station. talk about nerves. LOL
It was great and we felt we played one of our best show ever, we have had about 3o phone calls and 20 text and a dozen Facebook messages saying that people really enjoined it. so that's a great thing for us.  must say it was nerve racking going live, you really had to bring Ur A game. and couldn't swear  lol.   We are getting a copy, so i will try and share here on the forum.

On another note Happy st paddy's weekend, we are busy playing 4 gigs in 2 days.  sure to be a great time.
Hope u all have a great one.  and watch out for the green beer...LMAO

Acoustic Guitar Players Post Comments & Questions / Why are we.......

Why are we so hard on ourselves as musiciansÉ
I know there are a few people reading in this Forum, not a lot posting anymore . thats cool.
Thought i`d ramble on a bit here and there...LOL

Last weekend my band finished a night on Sat, we had a great crowd, but couldn't really get them to interact with our  show . we always try to get the folks singing along or talking with us, always have a laugh.  well sat night was hell for me. our guitar player was being a tool(diva)..LOL  and My mandolin pickup had a loose wire that had to be fixed on stage, then the battery went dead in the next set, our lead singer lost his voice and he sings 70 % of the tunes. then our PA systems power board shutdown, we had to use  one that was in the bar.  so for me it was a night fr hell..LOL
The bar owner paid us. i wanted to give it back..LOL  and we packed our gear in silence..LOL

Monday rolls around and i get a call fr the bar owner, stating that she wants us back again on a monthly bases, and said another club owner was in her bar and wants me to call him. we ended up getting 2 monthly gigs out of a gig that i thought we facked big time.  so i call up a friend who was at the gig , a Friend who always tells me the truth. asked him how we did and he said it was one of our best shows.
I`m at a loss for words..LOL
Maybe As musicians we are way to hard when it comes to ourselves.
That's my ramble...I need a blog...LMAO

Well whats the good of doing something that's funny and not sharing with Forum friends...LOL

Well sat night my band played in a restaurant/bar.  The setting was great, so we decided we all would sit down, because of some health issues i have i have trouble standing for the long hrs.  well now, the bar staff gave us 4 nice stools but warned us that they are not all that strong.  everything was going great until, right in the middle of doing a lead break the damn stool broke with a loud crack and i fell against the wall and into my mando stand. I never missed a note and the singer held it together to finish the song. we finished and everyone was quite till our guitar player looked down and said,  firewood for sale. needless to say the whole bar busted out laughing and the jokes went right into the night.

Anyone else have a funny stage story?

Acoustic Guitar Players Post Comments & Questions / Club owner...

Well now, i have been playing in clubs now for 23 yrs.  what happened to our band today was a first. I thought I'd share.

A few weeks ago we got a call fr a club owner we know. asking for a price to play a event at his new club.
first of all he wanted us to take the door, we have to drive for an hour and need to rent more speakers because its a big place.  so we agreed on $600 and half the door proceeds. worked for both band and club.

So we went in to the club today to check things out, to see what gear we would need, when we were met by a guy who said he was the club owner.  the guy we dealt with tried to buy the bar, but it didn't work out for him.  this guy knew this for almost 2 weeks. never let us know,  gotta say i was a bit shocked.
but what do ya do, guess we are out a gig...LMAO

Hey guys and gals, hope everyone had a great Christmas.
I would like your advice,  one of my bands (Celtic) is going along pretty good, music wise. we are getting a lot of gigs and have a good following. we are even  talking a CD in the near future. Problem is that  2 of the lads don't get along, and I'm stuck right in the middle. they both call me up complaning about the other and I'm Scared that anyday there will be a blow up and goodbye band..LOL
I want both guys in the band, they are great singers and one is a great guitarist.   talking to them as a group is a option, but i i think it will blow up then.
Rock and a hard spot to say the least.
should i stay the f**k out of it? or try to fix things?

Hey guys and girls.
My band is about to record some tunes in the near future.
anyone know that proper way to go about it, if we want to cover another bands song?
we are gonna do a few trad tunes that are very old, this don't seem to be a problem, but there is a tune or two we would like to do that are newer.  any help would be great

Acoustic Guitar Players Post Comments & Questions / Singers

Hey guys and gals, anyone here sing.?   I have been watching different singers on the tube. was wondering why they  all don't drink (water etc..)on stage.  most i see don't.

I drink a bottle of water a set along with a wobbly pop.  if i don't i cant get through it, and after the gig i would be so dehydrated.

so do you guys drink when you sing on stage/at party's  etc..?
if so what do ya find the best to keep fr losing your voice?
