EDIT: If I'm a 'Hero Member', what's Pike then?!?!  :o

I suppose Pike would be a Superhero.

Oh don't you just hate it when someone changes things around without any warning?  I'm not saying it's bad, just an unexpected new chore learning what's what.

Acoustic Guitar Players Post Comments & Questions / METRONOME PREFERENCE?

Analog or digital,,, makes no difference.  Basically you would want something that just ticks.  A volume adjustment is good.  I prefer one that clicks rather than chirps.

As for the various tempos?  Don't go overboard, you don't want a drum machine, unless you really want a drummer and not a metronome.  If it will 4/4, 2/4, 6/8 (in triplets) and 3/4 time, that's all you need if it is just rhythm keeping you want.

The multi-featured things (tuner-metro-chord dictionary) are no good.  They end up not doing anything well, they chirp instead of tick, can't get a stable tuning note from your instrument, etc, etc, etc,,,, Someone gave me a Planet Waves Chord Master/Tuner/Metro thing,,, it's useless.  The Chord dictionary part is the only thing usable, and it's still more time consuming than a decent chord chart.

P.S.  You may wonder why the tuners don't have Grover imprinted on them,,, it's because Grover sold them as a batch to the manufacturer,,, and without the imprint Grover doesn't have to honor a warranty issue.  That way the manufacturer of the guitar is responsible for that and they get the batch of tuners cheaper.  They hardly ever fail so the manufacture gets them at a bargain.

But the contours of the button as much Grover's as is the headstock on a Tele or Strat belonging to Fender. Digital Piano

Be sure you pay close attention to the anchoring screw tabs.

The Rotomatics come in three configurations.

Full-size, The anchoring screw tab points STRAIGHT down.

Mid-size, The anchoring screw tab points NOT QUITE STRAIGHT DOWN.

Mini-size, The anchoring screw tab points MORE TO THE SIDE THAN DOWN.

Everything else is the same.  The photo you showed at the top are actual Grover tuners, not clones. There is a way to tell by looking if you've had experience with both. There is a very minor difference in the button shape.  And they are Full-size Grover tuners.  The only thing you will be changing is the color, the quality will stay the same. Digital Piano

Maybe this will help.  His original red/white/blue was done for him by Semie Moseley.  Who also built many of the Telecasters Owens used.

I prefer brass fingerpicks, plastic thumbpick standard ol Dunlops,  It has the sound I like, and suits my style.  It's probably like strings, everyone has a different idea of what they like best, give it time,,,, you'll find that.

As to Robert Johnson,,, http://elderly.com/books/items/49-690271.htm  is a good book of note for note transcriptions, they are accurate,,, but you have to be handy with tunings and transposing to really feel comfortable with it. Digital Piano

Welcome,,, The WD's have replaced the older D's,,,,,  2010/11 year models.  Dollar for dollar, I wouldn't be able to comment on, I've not played the new WD's, but stick around, there are quite a few guys here that have experience with both. Digital Piano
