General Discussion on Washburn Electric Guitars / Need help deciding!!!
« on: February 03, 2009, 01:04:18 PM »
Thanks for the input guys. I think I'll go with the Idol, and wait for the Schecter until I can afford the Damien with the EMG's. I'm not very tech-savy with the guitar, and I do not want to mess with pick-ups and things, just play. I've heard of no problems with the pick-ups and any thing else with the Washburn as I have the Schecters. So, guess I'll add another one to the collection! Thanks again!

Yeah, I just didn't know if they had issues that may come up later. One thing I noticed is people saying that the pick-ups are the first thing changed on the Schecters. How 'bout the Idol? Any major issues there? Sound quality, fit n' finish concerns?

I am leaning toward the Idol, as I have had two previous Washburns and currently have an X-series. But... the Omen did catch my eye. Just wondering if anyone else has had experiences with the Schecters, as I have not had the oppertuninty to play on one yet.

Looking for a new guitar. Came across a WI 18 or a Schecter Omen 6. Price between the two I've found is comparable, so that won't be an issue. Just looking to get other peoples thoughts who may have more experience than I do. Any comparisons (or horror stories) would be appreciated!

1) Washburn X-series Anarchy in green (new fav.)
2) Fender Squire Strat (affinity series, I think)
3) FirstAct ME-402 LesPaul look-alike wannabe
4) FirstAct Acoustic
5) Some No-name Strat bought of Ebay for $25.

Amp is through a SpiderIII 150 Combo with FBV pedal

***The ones that got away***
1)Washburn G2V (some low-life here in Wichita stole it while I was at work, my all-time fav and the one that started it all.)
2)An old Alamo in tobaccoburst (I heard they were making radar detectors now!)

General Discussion on Washburn Electric Guitars / where are you from

Wichita, Kansas... where all the good live venues shut down because everybody here is boring.

I got one of the X-series Anarchy guitars.  Plays & sounds great!  Enjoy!!

I'm using a SpiderIII 150.  I see now that they are offering that with a Bogner tube set-up.  Anyone have anything on that amp?  Kind of curious how it sounds.

Man, I'm jealous.  I've been trying to find another G2V since mine was stolen almost two years ago.  The BEST guitar I've ever had, and I'm getting quite a collection now.  Enjoy it.

I've got one, and I must say a job well done.  I'm very pleased with it in overall quality and sound.

General Discussion on Washburn Electric Guitars / Hard Case for X15
« on: March 31, 2007, 09:20:58 PM »
Sorry, let me clarify, because I can't even understand what I wrote.
Anybody know if any of the X-series cases would work (like the X30 or X12), or are they all different sizes?

General Discussion / What makes you tick?

Hey, had to update everyone on the new stuff!  Aside from the Fender and the acoustic, I picked up a cheap FirstAct LP knock-off just to screw with and my wife bought me an X16 Anarchy in black/green to replace the stolen G2V.  The new Washburn sounds amazing, and the graphics just make it stand out against my other three.  Along with the Washburn, she bought me a Line6 SpiderIII 150 (since my old amp was taken along with the G2V).  The combination of tones are amazing.

General Discussion on Washburn Electric Guitars / Hard Case for X15

Hey, I have an X15 Anarchy that came with a padded gig bag.  I'm looking for a hard case for it.  Anybody know if any of the X-series cases would work, or are they all different sizes (like the X30 or X12)?  I still have my case for my old G2-V, and the X15 is a shorter guitar and won't quite sit in the mold for the G2-V.  Would anyone out there be willing to trade?  Anyways, always thanks for the info!

Hey, the new Washburn sounds great.  It does have a little bit of string buzz on the higher end, but it in general sounds pretty tight.  I will go ahead and get it set up by a pro at the dealer, though.  Many thanks to everyone for their input!
