That's because the sides and back are mahogany (laminated) like cedward's pics above or like this:

KrisH: Link doesn't work?
No, because they changed the domain-url a couple o'times in the past weeks.

and the new color scheme is annoying . . .
Yes. Seems they can't be bothered to change *that* .. [V]

If/when you decide to do som tech stuff yourself, I'd recommend reading these pages carefully:

If you don't know them already, they are a very good intro to a lot of things...

[:0][:0] Those are some extraordinary guitars!!

WashburngrasserIs there a way I can change mine back to white background and blue lines?
There is, but it's not without disadvantages: Force the colours of you choice in the browser...
# In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
# On the General tab, click Accessibility.
# Select the Ignore colors specified on webpages, (...) and then click OK twice.

Don't know why I had not thought of mentioning or trying this earlier.. Anway, you'll have to change it back and forth if you want other websites to display in their original colours.
In Firefox it can be done too, of course.
[So you could actually choose to override the colours in the settings of your least favourite browser, and then only use that one for visiting this forum..?? [;)] ]

Main site
Pro: Nice design/graphics.
Con: Seems slow loading? (no, it's not my connection!). Text in negative is NOT my cup of tea!

Pro: ?
Con: Text in negative is NOT my cup of tea! Worse here than main site, since legibilty should be the primary concern.

That's allright John, thanks.. :)  Wow, time flies!  FYI I have not tried any covers, yet!
