Pike,

Yes I am willing to give up the cutaway and the electronics....I loved the tone out of SDL I played at the local washburn dealer here where I am...great resonance on the low end and sweet mids out of it too. I guess the jumbo chamber adds more volume of air to be moved than in a D10 series. I rarely plug in because I only play at home for the kids and the wife...

If I were to buy the J28 outright my wife would probably kill me. I have a strat and a les paul already so the multiple guitar thing is seriously covered as well as I just gave away a D10QSB to a family member so if all else came down to it I could always go play that one LOL.

Thanks for welcoming me altho I have been around here for about a year lurk alot mostly.....great reading here which is why i asked for opinions.

I am thinking of upgrading from my 3rd D10 series to this J28SDL blonde honey I played tonight at a local shop.I have had over the past 2 years a D10-N, D10SCEB, and D10QSB...just gave the QSB away as a Christmas gift and sold the D10-N earlier in the summer. Now I am contemplating putting the SCEB up for sale to afford the purchase of the Cumberland model.

What are the collective thoughts out there in regards to the Jumbo line and specifically the J28

I have a D10S a D10SCEB and a D10QSB

The QSB has the best action of the bunch but the low end suffers some....the SCEB is my favorite and my go to guitar...but when I want to just jam I would grab the QSB....altho I am gifting her to an admirer for Christmas.....

I bought 2 guitars from this guy....a d10qsb and d10sceb both are excellent guitars that I got for next to nothing, but as stated above you do have to really read his auctions to make sure you are getting what you are really wanting.

Acoustic Guitar Players Post Comments & Questions / Headstock
« on: July 15, 2005, 10:05:30 PM »
Does anyone know what year the headstock design changed on the acoustics?

I have a 96 D10 that has the older headstock. I just got this guitar this week and am crazy about it...the tone is amazing.

Thank the boys in Tesla for converting another Gibson fan into a Washburn player.
