Can you tell me why it is that I cannot find one new Washburn here in Vancouver to try, its not like I live in a small town here and I realize we do not have any of the big box stores like GC or others but still if its like this here it must be the same back east also on the other coast.ship

Looks like Jam will become the leaders in distribution of musical instruments, their new line up is going to include Framus and Warwick bass's.

Only to see that it has been modified.  http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Rare-Washburn-D-51-Apache-Acoustic-Guitar-Dana-Bourgeois-/270987392337?pt=Guitar&hash=item3f181b7551
If the idiot had not put in a JDL bridge system it would have been worth the negotiations but he ruined what should have been a great beautiful guitar. What a shame.ship

Post your thoughts on Banjos & Mandolins / Looking at playing again
« on: January 27, 2010, 01:26:48 PM »
Hey guys I am thinking I would like to go back and play some mandolin music again I have never played a flat back only bowl backs, so for those of you who know, how much difference can the sound be and the playing between the two of them ( flat and bowl )and should I just go for an elelctrified one right up front or do you think those newer Mandolin pick-ups are just as good as one already wired for sound.Ship

Acoustic Guitar Players Post Comments & Questions / I wonder
« on: January 02, 2010, 08:52:33 AM »
I sometimes wonder what we all do to help promote Washburn guitars to the general public so I thought lets see how else we can all help put the word out there.
I know when ever I attend any public gatherings ( like the Vancouver Guitar Show ) I always wear my Washburn T-shirt or if I am playing a venue I always try to get the Washburn case on stage with the name pointed at the crowd ( its bigger then the guitar headstock to make it easier to see )And when I am on other forums I always talk highly of my Washburns, just my small contribution, oh and Dave, I still have some of your labels stuck on some cars and tow trucks.Ship

Acoustic Guitar Players Post Comments & Questions / Hey Cedwards

I realized later that you couldn't answer my question that I sent you ( I had a Homer moment Dooh ) the guitar in question SG-2W

You are the only one I know that has one it seems that they may have been made for our Canuck land only, so what do you think of yours and how does it play compared to say a full dread, for volume.
I am looking at one locally for about 450. but if I recall you payed that amount for yours back years ago, so I am not sure that I'd offer that amount.Ship

I just love reading this stuff and how folks will tell you to buy this or that product and how it has helped them play and keep there strings from doing this or that.

I came upon this on another forum and thought that I change my strings every 6-8 weeks still even when I rarely play certain guitars for a while and just tossed them out like everyone one else does ( well they actaully go into the recycle box ) and then this came up and thouight others must do what I do and this seems like a great way to help someone else out, so I thought I would share.

Acoustic Guitar Players Post Comments & Questions / Vancouver guitar show
« on: November 22, 2009, 05:30:54 PM »
Well it was that time of year again and it wastime to do another show., first we came upon this parlor and then I sought out a few old friends like Rob from Paragon Guitars.
the last two were hand painted by a Westcoast Native Artist by the name of Shawn Hunt ( http://www.spiritwrestler.com/catalog/index.php?products_id=4326 )

And this last picture is a friend who is doing a great project to help out in Africa here is a link for those who care to see. http://www.duncanafrica.com/Home%20.html
this is them wioth one of tier guitar built in Africa.
Not a lot of Washburns represented again at this show but I did see a Rover and a older looked like a D10S and the parlor of course.Ship
