Acoustic Guitar Players Post Comments & Questions / Hey Rocket!
« on: April 28, 2009, 10:59:52 PM »
Awhile back you aquired a small, very portable, digital recorder, have you used it much?  If so, what do you think of it, would you recommend it?  I can't remember the make and model!

Thanks,
Ray

I've always preferred a black background, it makes the text come alive and shine, much easier to read, 'least for me!!

I'm trying to put together a demo CD for my girlfriend and I can't figure this track title/album title business out.  I've read that commercial CD's use CD Text to identify the artist/track/album title, and I'm using Nero to burn the CD which supports CD Text and it gives me the opportunity to name the artist, tracks and the album, but when I play it back, this info isn't there, it says Unknown Artist, Unknown Album and Track 1,2,etc.  I'm using Windows Media Player to play the CD and it shows all this information on commercial CD's, but not on the CD's I create myself, so what's the missing part of the equation, anyone have a clue?

Thanks all!

Acoustic Guitar Players Post Comments & Questions / Stiff Leather!
« on: August 09, 2008, 10:46:02 AM »
I ordered this really cool leather strap on ebay and it's custom hand tooled as per my instructions.  I like the way it turned out, but it's really stiff, and I'm too old to wait for 20 years of sweat and spilled beer to give it that comfortable, it's been a hard life kind of look & feel, any suggestions on how to age and soften it up?  I'm not opposed to boiling it, or soaking it in oil, but maybe that's a bit extreme, though maybe not?

Hey everybody, I have this friend and I told her about this group and I twisted her arm a little so that she would join us.

I don't want to embarass her, but she has a lot of talent, a lot of energy, and a big heart, she performs now and then at a local hospice and she likes to sing at community events whenever she can.  And of course, she absolutely loves music.

So anyway, I told her what a great bunch of nice people hang out here and how all of you love your guitars and the music that comes out of them and I thought that she would fit right in.

Welcome to the group Mulan!

Did anyone else catch the Celtic Thunder performance last weekend during PBS's obnoxious pledge drive?  Maybe it was just here in Oregon, but these guys are terrific!

You can see one of the clips here and if you like it, there's a lot more on YouTube.

I saw Corinne Baily Rae for the first time this past weekend on Austin City Limits and she sings like an angel.  Then this morning I saw on Yahoo News that she just lost her husband from a drug overdose.  I feel so bad for her!

Acoustic Guitar Players Post Comments & Questions / I snagged one!
« on: January 08, 2008, 05:13:33 PM »
'Been looking for a classical with a narrow nut for the longest time!  I wanted to find one with a 1 3/4 nut to match my Martin and I did find a couple, but they were laminates and rather cheap.  Then after seeing Dugly's post about ordering a custom made Breedlove, I sent them an email, but there aint no way I can afford $2500+ for another guitar.

I saved a search on ebay a few months ago for an Epiphone Masterbuilt (EN-546CE), it's nut width is 46mm which is close enough for government work [:)], and I've heard good things about the Masterbuilt series.  Well last week ebay sent me an email telling me that one had just been listed, so I've been watching it all week and this morning I placed a bid.  I got caught up in a little bidding skirmish in the last few seconds, but I won, though I did pay a little more than I had hoped ($545); still, it looks to be in mint condition (where have I heard that before?) and it comes with the original hardshell case, so I probably could've done worse.

I'll post some pics when I get her!
