Title: Help with identification
Post by: Armchair Luthier on August 17, 2008, 04:49:41 PM
Sorry to dump this on you guys.

A friend has a Cremonatone in need of repair.  I told her I'd try to find the value of it, but she wants it repaired anyway for sentimental reasons.  Anyway:

The serial number on the label is 85060.
That's also stamped in the top of the head, with 122 stamped above it.
I can't remember all the details, but it did have the label with the chicago world fair thing and the 1893 or 1897 ( maybe?) dates on it.  I can get pictures next week if you need them.

I would really appreciate any help you guys can give me.

A style 122, one of the cheaper Washburn mandolins made at the time, dating back to around 1897-8.
