Thanks Nick,,, is there any way I can tell that my questionnaire went through?  The screen didn't say it was received.

(After you pick my name, I'll settle for a guitar if the good stuff is all gone.)

P.S.  Shiner, keep your big mouth shut.  I don't want to see a lot of stuff put up here by the riff-raff from over on the Acoustic Forum. Besides making Nick's job tougher, it will make our chances littler.

The prize picked for me was the baseball cap. Just had to confirm shipping addresses and the like, and now I'm waiting for it. Something to keep the sun outta my eyes  when I'm out round town playin away.(Yes, me and my friends DO walk around randomly while playing and improvising songs about whatever we see) May have prefered the hoody. But meh, it'll do me just fine [:D]

Yikes, cap... those are tough to get ya know!

(Note to Washburn: Pretty cheap dudes... y'all gotta, at least, put up better prizes than I do; after all, y'all are part of a big-time, multinational conglomerate!)

As I say, I probably would have picked the hoodie if I was given the choice. But meh, I'm not ungrateful. I wasn't really expecting to win, and would have filled in the questionnaire anyway. So it's just pure win for me really.

1. I'm legally forbidden to post a performance on YouTube, (or I would have done that years ago.)
2. I am contractually unable to meet the Entry or Release requirements.
3. I don't want a D10, gig-bag, or hoodie.

None of this is washburns fault though to be fair. You can't slate them for not offering decent prizes when they are there. You're just not going for them.

I wasn't scoffing nor did I state a thing about anyone's faults... I said the cap reward was cheap... and it is.
I do understand that sometimes the truth stings a bit!

I've gifted members here & elsewhere with guitars & equipment for nothing more than figuring out a simple puzzle... and in one instance, was figured out in less than an hour...
...and I'm no big-time, multinational conglomerate... just a better gifter, I figure!

This thread was prefaced with We want your opinion on all things Washburn. I'm a member and that's my opinion... if you don't like it, skip past it.

If you do not mind, may I know why you are forbidden to post a performance on YouTube?

Although I've recently retired, I'm still under an active production contract until later this year that sets restrictions on how & where I can perform. Although YouTube is currently off limits to me, my production Co could post there if they choose to. If they're not getting compensation, I don't see it happening.

I hope you'll do a Youtube performance for us when your contract is up.  Do you have cd's out there for sale?

Why YouTube... what's the big deal with YouTube?

Besides, you don't even know what I do. I'm not a solo, (or acoustic,) performer. Like hundreds of thousands of other nondescript musicians, I'm a band/session electric rhythm player... I think you'd find what I do quite boring & repetitive (but that's the nature of the beast.)

I have attempted to post some lessonage in the past but I learned that it tended to more alienate & put off some members so I haven't done it again.

I've posted some free music downloads (http://soundclick.com/share?songid=5882091) from one CD that I did with a local band years ago... it's kinda raw, but good stuff.

Do a forum search for more.

Youtube's easy, free and the norm for video posting.  I don't know why anyone would bother with anything else.

Awesome...good sound, I really like it a lot.  Thanks for the link.

I guess you're right, rhythm guitar may not make for exciting solo stuff.  Boring and repetitive might apply in that context but I'd like to see some bands try to get along without a rhythm player.

Funny this came up, I was actually just watching a video (on youtube) yesterday on a rhythm guitar lesson.  It ain't easy to do it right and I've been stumped on a few songs lately.

If you decide to put of more lessonage let me know.  I won't be put off. [:p]

Later,

Mike
