Title: Washburn Idol WI64 flat black distressed hardware relic MiK S/N 04102343
Post by: psp742 on November 02, 2014, 11:24:06 AM
Hello everyone,

sometime ago i won a WI64 in red thru ebay but never got a chance to receive it... seller says his storage unit was broken into and all his music gear was stolen... he did refund my money.

I chance upon another ebay item for WI64 in flat black and distressed brown hardware finish MiK, seller Andy said he is 2nd owner and the original purchaser liked WI-64V series guitars that come pre-relic'd from the factory, so he asked his luthier to custom relic this instrument... that is the sole reason he sold the guitar with OSC too.

That's a nice color scheme, it looks great!  What does OSC mean?

Thanks...I thought that it had something to do with the case, but was not sure, you have a great looking guitar, and I wager the sound is great also. Not a big fan of the "road worn" look but, on this guitar mixed with the distressed hardware, IMO it looks just fine.

thanks Sextant1951,

originally i didn't like the artificial relic'd look too... mahogany wood looks better after it is wiped with Dunlop lemon fretboard oil...   I really don't do this guitar justice...  my friend on the other hand..  fell in love with her and immediately asked me... "are you selling?  the weight is hefty but not too much, the sound of the stock pickups are so nice too."  I usually upgrade the pickups to hotter wound Alnico's or Ceramics...  but this Idol WI-64 really can hold its own...  no wonder it is compared to Gibby Les Paul... personally, i think it is better than the lather.  Korean made too.  i am stoked.

Damn... That is a beauty!

Thanks,  trying to revive interest in this beautiful guitar.. the VCC doesn't bother me at all since I own a bunch of guitars.. the difference is what makes her unique.
