Title: Washburn 116SWK Mandolin Strings
Post by: PDGotro on August 02, 2018, 03:15:57 PM
Interested in knowing which mandolin strings are on the Washburn 116SWK Mandolin.  I purchased last week but the dealer did not know what was on the mandolin.  Any suggestions on what to use to continue to get the warm tone that I was looking for that my Kentucky mandolin did not have?

Stock strings are Daddario EJ82 light gauge bronze.  I really like the Daddario EFT74, which are the med gauge, flat top strings with wound A strings.  The med gauge adds some fullness and the Wound A string is really nice!!!  Flat tops give you a bit less string "Zizz and Drag."  Really like these on my M118.
