Title: Washburn Laredo Restoration
Post by: Drewriviera on August 25, 2018, 07:32:40 PM
Hello,
I have a Washburn Laredo that I got from my guitar teacher and I am trying to restore it to its original glory. He had installed a middle pickup and installed a custom white pickguard shortly before I acquired the guitar. Unfortunately it is not possible to get the original pickguard. I have tried two different Tele pickguards and they do not fit. Does anyone know of a place to get an original white pearloid three ply one? Or at least a tracing of an original?
Thanks

I dont own a Laredo aka tele look a like.. my suggestion is search for a picture of a Washburn Laredo and make your own outline of the pickguard.. buy a blank pickguard, route out the shape of pickguard or have someone make it (cost more money but it will look better)..  or play the guitar as is until you have more fund to buy a pickguard or develop better skills to make one yourself.

Play it like you mean it. love it.

Here's a picture of one that I own.....the picture is not 100% straight on....but you may be able to blow up the picture to full body size to get some usable points for the pick guard.
